Understanding The Processing Queue

After you click Process Data, AVAG takes care of the rest. Here’s what happens behind the scenes and how to track your dataset’s progress.

Every layer in AVAG has a State indicator in the top right corner of the layer page. There are three states you’ll encounter:

UNLOCKED (white indicator) – Your dataset has been created and is ready for files to be uploaded. Processing hasn’t started yet.

PROCESSING (orange indicator) – Your files have been submitted and are currently being processed. You don’t need to stay on the page because you’ll be notified by email when it’s done.

PROCESSED (green indicator) – Processing is complete. Your data is ready to view on the map.

AVAG keeps you informed at every step via email from notification@avagpro.com:

Upload confirmation – Sent immediately after you click Process Data. This email confirms your files were successfully received and includes a summary of your upload: number of files, total size, project/object/layer details, coordinate system, and WMS region. It also confirms that processing will be completed within 48 hours.

Processing complete – Sent as soon as your dataset has finished processing. This email confirms your data is ready to open in the map, with a reference to the project, object, and layer name.

Tip: If you don’t see these emails, check your spam folder and make sure notification@avagpro.com is added to your safe senders list.

Once your dataset reaches the PROCESSED state, the layer page will show a list of Processed files – these are the outputs generated from your uploaded photos:

  • Orthophoto (.tif) – a georeferenced aerial image
  • DEM (.tif) – Digital Elevation Model
  • Point cloud (.las) – a 3D point cloud
  • Mesh (.zip) – a 3D mesh model

Your dataset is now available as a layer on the map and ready for measurements, analysis, and sharing.

Processing times depend on the dataset size and what’s currently in the queue.

Automated processing (no GCPs) – Processed in the order datasets are received. If the queue is empty, results can be ready within minutes. For example, a typical 250-photo dataset takes around 35 minutes from upload to results. If there are other large datasets ahead of yours, it may take longer. There’s no fixed time estimate because it depends on the current queue.

Expert processing (with GCPs) – Also handled in order of submission, subject to the availability of the processing team. Average processing time is around 9 hours, with guaranteed delivery within 48 hours. 90% of datasets uploaded before 12:00 CET are processed the same day.
