Keyboard Shortcuts

Use keyboard and mouse controls to navigate your site, draw measurements, and edit features.

On desktop, click your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the map and select Keyboard shortcuts.

The dialog shows labels for your detected operating system. Click Download shortcut guide to save a reference copy.

The tables below use the macOS labels shown in the interface. On other operating systems, check the in-app dialog for the corresponding keys. Mouse controls assume a standard mouse with left and right buttons.

For an existing polygon, first unlock it. Hold and drag a vertex to move it, click an edge to add a vertex, or double-click a vertex to delete it. You do not need to hold Alt for the polygon vertex actions described here. See Drawing Tools for the complete workflow.

The movement keys listed together are individual controls, not a combination to press simultaneously.

Use Orbit to inspect the scene around a pivot. In Cinematic mode, use movement and rotation keys to travel through it. Open the settings beside Cinematic to adjust movement speed, rotation speed, and camera smoothing.

Middle-click can refocus the camera while drawing.

Click Confirm or press Space to finish a line or polygon in 2D or 3D. A line needs at least two points; a polygon needs at least three.

On desktop, Confirm appears in the drawing bar at the top of the pane. On smaller screens and touch-first devices, Cancel and Confirm appear at the bottom right.

Press Esc or use the drawing bar’s Esc/Cancel control to cancel.

Points, notes, and arcs use their own click sequences. Space keeps its usual behavior in text fields, dialogs, menus, and focused drawing-bar buttons.
